Darrian's first day in New Zealand
Darrian with Steve the engineer.
Uncle Warren had to meet with him and the inventor
before leaving Auckland. Next to them is a prototype
of the GyroTorque which maximises wind energy.

Meeting my cousins Sam, 8 & Nick, 6.

Meeting my cousins Sophie, 12 & Jessica, 10.

Darrian's Arrival

Darrian arrived on November 25th. He said the flight took forever and he wondered if he was ever going to get there! He didn't sleep much and watched lots of movies like: Batman, Spiderman and Space Chimps. Towards the end of the flight he got to sit in First Class! When the flight arrived, a flight attendant helped him find his luggage and escorted him through customs to the arrival hall. When the main doors opened and Darrian saw his Uncle Warren & Aunt Kim, he exclaimed, "Finally! I'm in New Zealand!!"

We took Darrian to meet his cousins Nicky, Sam and Amanda, Sophie & Jessica. We then visited an engineering workshop where Uncle Warren had a meeting with an inventor who created a special gear box which captures wind energy. Darrian was a big help.

Then FINALLY we headed home to Ahipara - a beach community which is four hours north of Auckland at the top of the North Island. We didn't arrive until very late but Darrian stayed up for most of the trip because he was so excited.
